  • Full management responsibility for the TubeFuse group with operating entities in the US and the UK, and AMSI a metallurgical research-oriented company in Golden, Colorado.
  • Led the final development and proof-of-concept of a breakthrough technology offering fully-automated, casing forge-welding technology.
  • Established client relationships with major customers such Shell, Chevron, BP, Saudi Aramco, WFT and NOV.
  • Worked with Shell US and Shell Rijswijk (NL) representatives, and conducted land-based product testing. The technology met all requirements and was deemed viable. Approval was given for full commercialization.

  • Led the integration of Tesco Casing Drilling into Schlumberger.
  • Delivered the best operational and financial performance in the history of Casing Drilling(T), in 2012, significantly exceeding the Schlumberger forecast.
  • Managed the successful integration of Casing Drilling (T) into Schlumberger DT&R. Transferred all personnel successfully from TESCO to Schlumberger.

  • Turned around a loss making business unit to breakeven in three years. -Managed the development of Liner Drilling, setting the stage for TESCO entering the lucrative offshore markets in the GOM, West Africa and Offshore Brazil.
  • Sr. Executive leading the Technology Development Program to promote in-house technology and register new IP.
  • Increased revenue to $32M by expanding the marketing area to Asia and the Middle East and securing profitable, long-term drilling contracts.
  • Improved profit margins by acquiring 2TD, a drillable bit technology company, which dramatically reduced drilling costs. The technology also provided access to new markets for TESCO.
  • The company received the OTC Spotlight Award for “Liner-Drilling Technology” and the Harts Engineering Award for Drill Bit Technology Achievement.

NDT Global

  • Founder of US operations for NDT Systems and Services of AG of Germany.
  • Developed a North American customer base and managed the daily operations providing ultrasonic pipeline inspections.
  • Managed the acquisition of Tuboscope Pipeline Services from its parent company, NOV and reported to the corporate office in Germany.

  • Overall operating responsibility for global operations $55M pipeline services company with 250 employees and offices in Houston, Singapore, the UK and Mexico. Directed services for certifying the integrity and environmental safety of pipelines worldwide locations including Kuwait, Korea, UAE, Africa, Mexico and Latin America.
  • Reorganized the operation to focus on quality assurance and accountability. The new focused resulted in the achieving world class performance levels in inspection technology; and pipeline integrity and certification.
  • Leveraged improved quality assurance and tool performance to improve profit by reducing re-testing and optimizing tool availability. First-run success rate improved from 67% to an industry-leading 97%. The reduced need for re-testing generated a 50% improvement in tool availability and resulted increased revenue.
  • Led the company to adopt a new technology by purchasing the most advanced Ultrasonic Detection Tools in the market and incorporating the technology into our product offering. Tuboscope became the global state-of-the art provider of ultrasonic inspection services and maintained the company’s global market leadership position.

National Oilwell Varco

  • Appointed by the president of Varco to turnaround the operation of this Scottish-based services, which provided solids control technology and automatic mud mixing systems. Led the operation up through Varco’s merger with Tuboscope.
  • Established the corporate headquarters in Houston and began a US-based manufacturing effort to better match US drilling companies’ demands.
  • Increased revenue by 100% by leveraging Varco’s worldwide market presence and expanding RigTech’s customer base beyond the North Sea and the Middle East.
  • Established RigTech’s reputation as a global technology leader in mud – solids control services.

  • Managed 7 area offices and 4 joint ventures.
